My rants about storage and moving

If you go through a regular moving company, you will have to have your belongings delivered to storage (with all the wear and tear of moving them off the truck and into the storage unit), then you will have to have them loaded onto a new truck to be brought to your new house. Basically, you run all the risks of moving twice, and you pay for the privilege twice. With storage pods, your possessions stay secure in the pod throughout the process, so they run far less risk of damage, and the price for storing the pods and reloading them when you are ready for them is factored into the fee. You move only once, and you pay for the move only once. In addition, it is normal to store pods for a long time, so you do not have to deal with bewildered calls from the moving company asking you when you want your things.
